Side Events & TIX
Extra tournaments that run alongside a main event, and TIX — the reward points you earn and spend inside an event.
What a side event is
A side event is an extra tournament that runs under a larger Event — for example a casual pod, a mini-tournament, or an on-demand game that fires whenever enough players are ready. Big events use side events to keep players busy between rounds of the main tournament.
You find side events on the Event page, in its schedule and its side events list, next to the main tournament.
Buying a side event ticket
- Open the Event page and choose a side event.
- Get your ticket. Free side events add you instantly; paid ones take you through a card payment.
- Your ticket carries a QR code. Staff scan it at the desk to check you in and confirm your seat.
Some side events are on demand: instead of a fixed start time, you join a live queue and are seated as soon as a table is ready. The Event page shows your place in the queue in real time.
Note: You can review your tickets and payments anytime from My Registrations and My Payments in your dashboard.
What TIX are
TIX are reward points that live inside a single event. They are not money and have no cash value — you cannot withdraw them or move them to another event. Think of them as the event's own arcade tokens.
Each event you take part in has its own TIX wallet. See all your balances and a full history on your TIX page.
Earning TIX
The organizer decides whether an event awards TIX and how many. When rewards are set up, TIX are credited to you as you play — you do not have to wait until the end. An organizer can reward any mix of:
- Taking part — as soon as you have played at least one match.
- Match wins — for each match you win (a bye counts as a win).
- Match draws — for each drawn match.
- Final placement — based on where you finish.
Organizers can also hand out TIX directly at the venue from the TIX stand by scanning your identity QR (see below).
Spending TIX
On a tournament entry
When a tournament in the event accepts TIX, a Pay with TIX option appears at registration next to the card payment.
- Paying with TIX cannot be combined with Cancellation Protection, which needs a card payment.
- If you later cancel, the TIX are credited back to your event wallet — they are never refunded as money.
In the event shop
Shop items can carry a TIX price alongside their money price, so you can spend your winnings on products at the venue.
Buying more TIX
If an event sells TIX packs, you can top up your wallet with real money — for example {N TIX for a fixed price}. Buy from your TIX page or from the event shop.
- Open the event's Buy TIX page (linked from My TIX and the event shop).
- Pick a pack and pay by card. The TIX land in that event's wallet right away.
Warning: TIX pack purchases are final. They are not refundable, and a card refund does not remove the TIX from your wallet.
TIX expire a short grace period after the event ends. Spend them before then.
Your identity QR and the distribution stand
Your TIX page shows a signed identity QR code. At the venue, staff scan it to:
- adjust your TIX balance (award or spend points in person);
- hand you your prizes and goodie bags at the distribution stand.
The QR is tamper-proof — only your own wallet opens when it is scanned.
For organizers
TIX and side events are configured per event. You set the TIX reward schedule on a tournament, sell TIX packs, run the in-person TIX stand, and manage the distribution station from the Store section. See the Store & Shop and Events & Event Pages pages.
