Refund Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
1. Role of the Platform
getpaird.io is a technical tournament management platform. Payments made by players are collected directly on the Organizer's Stripe account: the Organizer is the seller, and the Editor of the Platform (TimeVault TCG) is not a party to the transaction between the player and the Organizer.
The Organizer therefore decides their own refund policy, within the limits of the applicable law and of the rules set out below, which are enforced by the Platform itself.
2. Requesting a refund
The player must contact the tournament Organizer directly. The Organizer can issue a full or partial refund from their dashboard. A refund is returned to the payment method originally used, and generally reaches the account within 5 to 10 business days depending on the bank.
3. Tournament cancellation
- Stripe payments: an automatic refund is triggered for every registered player.
- External payments (HelloAsso, cash, bank transfer): the refund is manual and is the sole responsibility of the Organizer, since the Platform never received the money.
4. Cancellation Protection
An optional Cancellation Protection is offered on every card payment, at 7% of the amount charged. It is opt-in and is never added automatically.
It lets the player cancel by themselves, without going through the Organizer, and be refunded according to the following schedule, counted from the start date:
- cancelling 5 full days or more before the start: full refund of the amount paid;
- cancelling less than 5 days before the start: 50% refund;
- once the event has started: no refund.
The days are counted in the venue's local calendar, not in UTC.
The Cancellation Protection is NOT refundable, even when the purchase it covers is refunded in full: it is the price of the option, not a deposit.
5. Cancelling a tournament registration
- Free registration, or one paid in TIX: you can cancel it yourself as long as the tournament has not started. TIX are credited back to your balance for that event.
- Registration paid by card WITH the Cancellation Protection: you cancel it yourself and are refunded according to the schedule above.
- Registration paid by card WITHOUT the Cancellation Protection: online cancellation is not offered, precisely because it would give you nothing back. Contact the Organizer, who alone decides and can refund you from their dashboard.
- Once you have been seated in a tournament in progress, withdrawal is handled by the Organizer or a judge.
- Team registration: the entry fee is paid once by the captain, for the whole team. Only the captain can cancel it, and any refund goes back to them, since cancelling breaks up the team.
6. Side-event tickets
A side-event ticket gives access to a queue: it is bought before being assigned to a table. The Cancellation Protection schedule is therefore counted from the start date of the parent event, not from that of the tournament you will eventually be assigned to.
- You can cancel your ticket yourself as long as it is still in the queue AND the cancellation gives you something back (refund under the Cancellation Protection, TIX credited back, or a free ticket). Once the ticket has been assigned to a tournament, cancellation is up to the Organizer.
- Ticket paid by card WITH the Cancellation Protection: automatic refund according to the schedule above.
- Ticket paid by card WITHOUT the Cancellation Protection: online cancellation is not offered, precisely because it would give rise to no refund. Contact the Organizer, who alone decides and can cancel and refund from their console.
- Ticket whose Cancellation Protection no longer gives anything back (event started, or refund already made by the Organizer): same rule — online cancellation is no longer offered and the Organizer remains the sole decision-maker.
- Free ticket: cancelling simply releases the seat.
- Ticket payable on site: you may already have paid the Organizer in cash — money the Platform never received. Online cancellation is therefore not offered and is handled with the Organizer.
- Ticket paid in TIX: the TIX are credited back to your balance for that event. They are never converted into money.
7. TIX and TIX packs
- TIX are never converted into money, refunded in money or transferred to another account or another event.
- A purchased TIX pack is a digital good delivered immediately: the sale is final and the pack is neither refundable nor exchangeable.
- TIX left unused at the end of the event, or expired TIX, are not repaid.
- When a purchase paid in TIX is cancelled, the TIX go back to your balance for that same event.
8. Orders from an Organizer's shop
Items sold in an Organizer's shop are sold by that Organizer, who is the seller. Any refund request must be addressed to them; they can refund an order, in full or in part, from their dashboard.
For goods bought remotely, the statutory withdrawal rights apply between you and the Organizer under the applicable consumer law. The Platform does not decide on such requests.
9. Right of withdrawal
Under Article L221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code, leisure services supplied on a specific date are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal. Tournament registrations and side-event tickets fall within that exception: the conditions set out above are therefore the only ones that apply to them.
10. Non-refundable fees
- Stripe processing fees are not refunded by Stripe and are borne by the Organizer.
- The Cancellation Protection (7%) is not refundable.
- Platform fees invoiced to the Organizer are not affected by individual refunds.
11. Organizer subscriptions
An Organizer may cancel their subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and no pro-rata refund is issued.
12. Disputes
The Platform cannot act as a mediator in disputes between players and Organizers. Such disputes must be settled directly between the parties. In the event of a payment dispute (chargeback), the amount is debited from the Organizer's Stripe Connect account.
